RetroCon Saar 2026

We invite you to participate in RetroCon Saar, which takes place in the Hermann Neuberger Hall in Völklingen. This retro convention is held twice a year, and starting in 2024, it has expanded to a two-day event with changing themes. In recent years, the exhibitions have featured themes such as "Mysteries and the Supernatural," "Pirates and Oceans," and "Action and Adventure." Depending on the chosen theme, visitors to RetroCon Saar can expect a variety of exhibits from numerous vendors offering games, consoles, movies, toys and figures, comics, music and soundtracks, collectible cards, and much more. Additionally, the event includes lectures, workshops, readings, and panel discussions, as well as plenty of opportunities to try both digital and analog games. Among other highlights of RetroSaar are the popular large prize lottery, the RetroLounge with a wide selection of games for retro consoles and home computers, the Creative Zone featuring game developers, new releases, art, and community projects, as well as a Photo Corner. The Hermann Neuberger Hall is conveniently located in the city center of Völklingen, near the city center and the Hermann Neuberger Sports School. It can be reached by both car and public transport. From Völklingen station, you can take a bus or walk quickly to the hall. Völklingen is a city in the Saarland with a population of about 38,000, located in the Saarbrücken metropolitan area, right on the border with France. The city is particularly known for its industrial heritage and the unique UNESCO World Heritage site — Völklinger Hütte. This former metallurgical plant is a symbol of the city and is considered one of the most important industrial monuments in Europe. Today, cultural initiatives are actively developing here, with regular art exhibitions, concerts, tours, and events. RetroCon Saar is organized by Next Heroes Events, based in Saarbrücken.
