About the exhibition

The International Exhibition of Track Technology (IAF) is recognized as the leading trade fair in the field of track technology and serves as a key platform for professionals in railway construction, railway infrastructure, and related fields. IAF represents a specialized exhibition format that combines technical innovations, international cooperation, and practical experience exchange. The exhibition takes place at the modern Halle Münsterland exhibition and congress center in Münster, located in the heart of Westphalia with excellent transport connections. The event is held every four years in spring and is organized by VDEI-Service GmbH, a subsidiary of the Association of German Railway Engineers (VDEI). IAF stands out with its clear focus on track technology. Over 200 international exhibitors and more than 15,000 professional visitors present and learn about the latest developments in areas such as track construction equipment, railway technologies, switch systems, track components, measurement and welding technologies, maintenance systems, digitalization, safety systems, and recycling solutions. In addition to spacious exhibition areas both indoors and outdoors, the exhibition includes machine demonstrations and a multilingual support program in German, English, and French. The IAF theme addresses key issues reflecting the current challenges of the railway industry: digitalization and automation of maintenance processes, promotion of sustainable technologies that reduce CO₂ emissions, targeted support for young professionals to address the skills shortage — including the prestigious VDEI Sponsorship Award — and the development of high-performance, sustainable railway infrastructures. With this thematic focus, IAF provides important impulses for future-oriented and environmentally friendly mobility. Münster, as a center of science and technology, has a well-developed infrastructure and offers ideal conditions for international industry events at Halle Münsterland. The exhibition is easily accessible by train and from nearby airports.
