The BRAWO exhibition is the only specialized fair in Germany dedicated to the world of wind music. Every year, Messe Stuttgart becomes the center of the national and international wind music scene. Organized by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, BRAWO offers a central platform for musicians, music educators, manufacturers, publishers, and wind music enthusiasts from across Europe. The name of the exhibition is not only memorable but also reflects the concept of the event: brass instruments meet woodwinds, traditions connect with innovations, enthusiasts meet professionals, united by a unique combination of exhibition, education, and live musical experience. At the heart of the exhibition is a variety of wind music. BRAWO brings together a wide range of products with high-quality master classes and inspiring concerts. Over 130 exhibitors showcase current trends, new instruments – including woodwinds, brass, and percussion – as well as accessories, sheet music, stage and audio equipment, specialized media, orchestral clothing, and custom solutions for music associations. The exhibition features both internationally renowned brands like Yamaha and Pearl, as well as small specialized manufacturers, reflecting the vibrant and diverse nature of the scene. A key component of BRAWO is the BRAWO Academy, offering over 70 educational formats. Musicians of all skill levels can take advantage of practical master classes and seminars – from breathing techniques and ensemble rehearsals to conducting workshops with professional orchestras such as the SWR Big Band or the German Army Music Corps in Ulm. With a focus on practical relevance, the Academy provides real value for music educators, conductors, and passionate music lovers. Live music also plays a central role at the exhibition. More than 30 concerts by renowned ensembles – including the Orchestra of the Baden-Württemberg Police – are included in the ticket price and form an integral part of the official program. Competitions such as BRAVISSIMO, evaluations of school wind class performances, and the alphorn competition provide additional opportunities for both emerging talents and established ensembles. Exhibitors represent various fields, including instrument manufacturing, music publishing, music education, event technology, and accessories. The audience is also diverse: music associations, conductors, educators, professional musicians, students, school ensembles, and passionate music lovers – all united by a common passion for wind music. BRAWO maintains a close connection with the city of Stuttgart and the Baden-Württemberg region – an area known as one of the most traditional in Europe for wind music.
